Kitchen

The shared-use kitchen is used by Nuestras Raíces members and other community residents on a time-share basis. The kitchen supports the growth of small businesses such as catering, food processing, and the production of sauces. It fosters new micro-enterprises, and helped start the now infamous organic bread bakers at El Jardín Bakery. Entrepreneurs who use the kitchen have access to business training and technical assistance. Foods from Puerto Rico, such as sofrito and pasteles, can be made in the kitchen to sell to restaurants and grocery stores.

The Kitchen is also used for our Movable Feast Project. MOvable Feast is a socailly engaged arts and food project to promote FOOD SYSTEMS CHANGE, as a literal and metaphorical vehicle that advocates for building a healthier regional food System in Western Massachusetts.

For more information about the MOvable Feast, you may visit their website here, Movable Feast Project.
