Nuestras Raices Teaches "Chickens"

ChickensChickensOn Thursday May 20th, Amy Calandrella and Diego Angarita lead a chicken workshop at Nuestras Raices' Farm. The workshop focused on benefits of owning chickens, how to clean and prepare a cage, and how to keep your chickens healthy.
Not only did Calandrella and Angarita speak on the short term benefits, they also touched upon how much oil the chicken process goes through, and how we can benefit not only our pockets but the earth by owning our own chickens.

Medicinal Herbs Workshop

Nuestras Raices will be hosting an educational event on the production and use of Medicinal Herbs at the Farm on 24 Jones Ferry Road, Holyoke. Come and inform yourselfs over Caribbean and American Herbs, how to make teas and creams, help us install a medicinal herbs garden and much more. We will be giving away seeds and potted herbs to anyone who attends.

The discussion will be lead by medicinal herbs specialists from Goldthread Apothecary. The herbs we will be learning about will include cilantro, chamomile, lemongrass, basil, mint and many more!

The Board of Directors of Nuestras Raíces announces that Daniel Ross will resign as Executive Director of the organization effective May 31, 2010.  He plans to further his education in order to continue developing his career as a community leaders and entrepreneur.

Energia joins the Green Revolution

ENERGIA IS HERE!

Thuerday April 1st at City Hall, Nuestras Raices along with Co-Op power and Nueva Esperanza launched Energia, a energy efficiency company.

Along with Mayor Pluta and the Office of Conressmen John Olver, the media swarmed City Hall to get its first glance at Energia.
