The shared-use kitchen is used by Nuestras Raíces members and other community residents on a time-share basis. The kitchen supports the growth of small businesses such as catering, food processing, and the production of sauces. It fosters 4-8 new micro-enterprises, including El Jardín Bakery. Entrepreneurs who use the kitchen have access to business training and technical assistance. Foods from Puerto Rico, such as sofrito and pasteles, can be made in the kitchen to sell to restaurants and grocery stores.
