Community Greenhouse

Nuestras Raíces uses this small greenhouse to raise over 5,000 seedlings. The seedlings are sold to our community gardeners who grow produce for their families and to sell in the Holyoke Farmer's market. Nuestras Raíces focuses on growing varieties of peppers and herbs used in the Puerto Rican cuisine such as ají, dulce pepper, hot peppers, cilantro, oregano, and brujo herbs. The greenhouse also grows lettuce, eggplants, banana trees, tomatoes, sweet cherry peppers, and more. The greenhouse creates part-time employment for one elder and two youth.

 The greenhouse also contains Marine Reef Habitat.
